What do you know, back-to-back posts about inept child caregivers.  So this has nothing to do with driving, but it was so unbelievably stupid that I had to write about it.  The intersection of Wilshire and Bundy isn’t a happy place, especially during rush hour.  Cars run red lights all the time in their attempts to make left turns without waiting for an entire traffic light cycle.  Pedestrians crossing the street have to constantly be wary of drivers who don’t pay attention to anything that weighs less than a ton on the road.  With that said, what shouldn’t you do while crossing the street at this intersection?  You should not have a toddler riding on the handlebars and parent tray of a stroller.  Remarkably, that’s exactly what this nanny did with this talkative, bubbly girl who couldn’t have been any older than 2 years-old while crossing Wilshire and then Bundy.  I found myself taking quadruple takes, thinking to myself that this little girl had to be secured somehow.  I mean no one could be that stupid, crossing busy roads, going up and down sidewalk ramps, with a toddler perched precariously on top of a stroller.  Apparently, I was gaping too hard, and I saw the nanny give me a smile out of the corner of my eye.  I wasn’t the only one staring, as quite a few people couldn’t believe what they were seeing, either.  Someone needs to fire this lady.  Immediately.  I took these photos over my shoulder while walking back to my car.  Apparently, I wasn’t as discreet as I thought I was being, since the nanny promptly stopped the stroller and proceeded to place the protesting toddler in the seat and into the restraints.
