Los Angeles drivers can't drive. Plain and simple. Basic traffic laws and driving etiquette clearly do not apply in a town where the people seem to operate in their own little bubble, completely unaware or dismissive of others on the road. Call it what you will: self-entitlement, negligence, malaise, ignorance. My goal? To have mandatory driving tests randomly issued where drivers are eligible for selection after 6 years. Consider this jury duty for the road.

Don't be jealous of his stripes...Dodge made a very limited edition of durangos in 99 and 00. Viper blue paint with white racing stripes. Also, my durango has stripes on it. It's not lame.

Mykal, classic short-sighted, senseless aggression. On that note, I’ve been witnessing a lot of that today for some reason…more than usual. Check out the most recent post…it’s an L.A. classic.

Just the other day, I was driving through a residential area, a rather popular one that many people use to get from one main street, to another, helping them avoid a very busy main drag.
Anyway, at some point, some years ago, the city put in some manual stops because too many people were blazing through this RESIDENTIAL area.
So, now, there are many stops throughout this winding street (about 5), and when you enter one end, the speed limit changes: from 25 MPH for one stretch, to 30 MPH, to 35 MPH when it gets closer to a shopping area. (Of course, very few people follow these street speeds).
So, to my main point, I had just turned left into the 25 MPH area, and a guy in a truck turned in soon after me. How did I notice? He was driving very fast, right up to my back bumper, which he did with an aggressive/impatient jerking motion. I looked into my review mirror, and he got even closer, as I stuck to the 25 MPH.
And because I was following the speed limit, and he didn't care to, he drove angrily over the double yellow lines into opposing traffic and cut in front of me, where he proceeded to speed up to start tailgating a pickup that had been several car lengths in front of me.
It's a small wonder that he didn't cut illegally over the double yellow lines again to cut off that "slow" person.
He tailgated that person all the way through the winding residential area, until he finally got to the traffic signals at the end.
What a prick!!!
