Selfish Prick Uses Right Turn Only Lane as Passing Lane
Idiocy Meter

Asshole Meter

Some of you have asked if I’m being too harsh on L.A. drivers regarding lane violations. For example, on wide stretches of road like Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills, is it really so bad if a third car squeezes in on the right, since there technically aren’t dotted white lane markings on the road? One may feel inclined to give such drivers a pass. However, when I talk about lane violations, I’m more likely talking about crossing double yellow lines, ignoring turn only lanes and going straight, using exit/merging lanes on the freeway as passing lanes, etc. Trust that I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that this happens all the time in L.A. This particular asshole was pulling a leapfrog favorite of pigheaded commuters coming from the Valley in the morning. As you go south on Laurel Canyon Blvd. toward Mulholland Dr., the #2 lane becomes a right turn only lane. There are plenty of signs and short, fat, painted lane markings that indicate the right lane is ending. The city also gave drivers plenty of time to merge over to their left, and many drivers do just that. Guess what happens, though? Everyone’s daily morning commute over Laurel Canyon always takes longer than it needs to be because of assholes like this jerkoff who use the right turn only lane as a passing lane. In this example, he managed to reach the intersection right when the light changed from red to green, so he was able to move left into through traffic without much incident. Most other drivers end up blocking right turn only traffic as they just sit in the lane like road blocks, trying to jam their cars back into the #1 through lane. Everyone ends up getting delayed by these impatient, selfish, often non-signaling road ragers who could give a rat’s ass about inconveniencing anyone else but themselves. At the end of the video, you can clearly see a right turn only arrow painted on the asphalt. Make no mistake, this guy was not lost and knew exactly what he was doing. And the negative stereotypes of Los Angeles drivers continue….
