Mater!!!  At least that was my first thought when I saw this old Chevy pickup on Cahuenga.  What can I say, I loved Cars and am pretty much a sucker for any Disney/Pixar animated feature.  However, any warm feelings I had toward this vehicle quickly vanished as the hillbilly behind the wheel had to be the biggest asshole I’ve encountered on the road in a very long time.  Hell, full marks for this piece of shizzit.  To say that this guy was tailgating would be a gross understatement.  In fact, I will go as far as to say that in the 2+ years I’ve lived in L.A. full-time, no one has ever tailgated me as hard as this fu*knut.  Maybe he has an Asian fetish.  I’m sorry, but you’re not my type.  In fact, I don’t even think of you as the same species–clearly his ancestors never got the “evolution” memo.  Needless to say, he kept weaving back and forth between me and other cars traveling north on Cahuenga, viciously trying to pass.  Traffic was very light, and I can only imagine how his temper would flare if it were rush hour.  Eventually he did pass and felt the urge to flip me the bird (I believe it was a cockatoo) for driving at or a little above the speed limit along with the rest of traffic, at which time all occupants in my car immediately started to applaud.  Yay for the loser who needs to feel empowered!  When someone took this photo near Melrose and Cahuenga, we saw a vanity plate that pretty much revealed that he was in the service industry and was suggesting that people should be generous with their gratuities.  Well, clearly he hasn’t been earning much in tips lately given his foul attitude.  So…if you ever need work done on your home, and an assnut wearing flannel in a “Mater” car pulls up with a vanity plate, I suggest that you tell him to drive with a little bit more patience and respect on the road if he wants a good tip.
