A lot of people buy hybrids like the Toyota Prius because they’re conscious about the environment.  However, I find it very hard to believe that someone as arrogant, selfish, impatient, and narrow-minded as the guy driving this dark gray Prius cares about anything other than himself.  He likely falls under the category of people who buy hybrids because of the higher global awareness, sense of social responsibility, and other positive accolades he thinks driving such a car will give him in the eyes of his peers.   After all, it’s “cool” to be passionate about something right?  Isn’t being “green” the new “yoga”?

Now tailgating in dry and clear weather is bad enough…..but in the rain?  Are you kidding me?  This guy was riding my bumper down 6th St. like nobody’s business, despite the fact that there was clearly another car directly in front of me.  What does he do at the next red light at La Jolla?  He violently veers his car to the right into the #2 curb lane, which you should know by now has lots of cars parked, preventing it from being a permanent through lane.  This guy is so impatient and eager to cut back in front into the #1 lane that he starts to “creep”, never coming to a complete stop.  Please note 3 things in the photo: 1) The traffic light is red; 2) His brake lights aren’t on; 3) Look how far his car is across the limit line.  Yes, this jackass actually ran the red light at about 2 mph so that by the time the light actually turned green, his car was already entirely in the intersection.

Huh?  What?  Who does that?

So this guy’s feeling of righteous road-conquering lasts only about another 2 blocks until we hit the red light at San Vicente, where he is in the #1 lane to go straight, and the black Toyota in front of me and my car pass him by to make our right turn in the #2 lane.  So essentially, what does his asinine driving achieve in the long run?  Think about how much pollution his little hybrid will cause when he causes an auto accident, factoring including debris and exhaust fumes from other cars due to traffic buildup.
