Why, I Ask You? Why?

Idiocy Meter

Asshole Meter

When I got this submission, I literally laughed aloud at the blatant apathy or supreme close-minded idiocy demonstrated in this photo. Did this girl actually not realize that her car is making contact with the parked car in front of her? Is she that much of a clueless dimwit or did she just need her nicotine fix so badly that she didn’t care? Here’s the story:
“After clearly making a mistake of going to Ontario Mills the day after Christmas, I was walking between the front of parked cars because I was looking for mine. Suddenly, I ran into a minor roadblock. Minor is actually an understatement. There it was: a PT Cruiser parked over the parking slot lines. The car was physically touching the other car parked in front of it. I didn’t realize that anyone was in the car until I yelled to my mom to take a look. There within the car sat a girl smoking, clearly in her own world, and completely oblivious of her amazing parking skills.”
You know what? I’m just going to say it. She was Asian. Yes, she was. And you know what? So am I, and that just pisses me off when I see yet another Asian person giving my ethnicity a bad rap. Hell, if I can’t say it in this blog, where can I say it? Let’s increase the scope of this issue. Native Angeleno or not…transplant or not…Asian or not…we all live here now. Do we choose to actually make positive changes in our lives that’ll benefit the community as a whole or do we make excuses, project blame, or worse–reinforce negative stereotypes? This me-first and only-me-matters attitude in this town is getting worse, and it’s up to each of us to start taking responsibility for and ownership of our actions. Granted, this blog specifically centers on bad driving habits, but something within our heads in this town causes us to drive the way we do, and we’d be pretty naive to think that such physiological influences only affect us when we’re behind the wheel.

Asians (the ones who are not born in the USA and not assimilated) cannot drive. Anybody who doubt this statment can go to Alhambra, Monterey Park, etc to check out himself. One reason is that they are very timid drivers. They also do not possess adequate driving skill.
It’s true that driving in the Far East definitely sucks, though I can really only speak of Taiwan since it’s the only place in Asia where I spent a large amount of time. I hear nightmare stories of China all the time, and we’ve all probably seen a sample of driving in India on YouTube. But as I’ve also recently posted, some countries in Europe definitely have their fair share of crazies.
Asian girl’s driving are the least of my worries, as a asian myself I have a bigger problem with the asian riceboys. The very sight of their car hurts my eyes when I look at it.
HAHA Welcome back from your trip mike btw.
I think you all are being a little rough on this poor girl. Clearly, she is visually impaired and must park by Braille.
Thanks, Ken! And along Fuerte’s note, do they still have braille on the keypads at drive-thru ATMs?
More like drive by braile. How else can you explain them going from lane line to lane line?? Oh, the Bott’s Dots!! Bumpbumpbump, oh, too far, bumpbumpbump, let’s go the other way for a bit, that is until they run out of dots and side swipe you…… Oh, and yes on the braile at drive up atm’s
PS, why do you think I leave my trailer hitch in my truck when I drive around? If you’re stupid enough to not see a 7000 lb truck (as was told by the 3 dimwits that hit me), I’m gonna make it hurt!!! No damage to me.
